Terence On The “Natch” With Bruce Damer
This is a really cool video of Terence Mckenna that I’d never seen before. It was just uploaded to Bruce Damer’s Youtube channel and it depicts Terence at his home in Hawaii in February 1999. Bruce introduced Terence to 2D and 3D computer graphics and Virtual Reality. Terence was a huge fan of VR and spoke about it many of his lectures. This video is, as far as I know, the only released footage of Terence at home chilling out. His son Finn is also featured prominently. It’s a must watch for any Terence fan.
“Terence McKenna on the Natch” with Bruce Damer shot at Terence’s house in South Kona, Hawaii in February 1999. This was the AllChemical Virtual Powwow in which for the first time Terence entered avatar populated virtual worlds and engaged with his audience. A long time dream, Terence became avatar “Zone Ghost” and very excitedly engaged this new world built of language. Bruce Damer was his guide, Terence’s son Finn built the gateway world, Terence’s partner Christy played a key supporting in-world role, and the whole thing was caught on high-8 video by James Essex.
